Note: The basics of each course are universal in scope, and much of our training is broadly applicable to all lyophilizers, not just our own. Anyone may register and attend.

Fundamentals I: Basic Freeze Dryer Operation and Maintenance

This program is a survey course covering fundamental lyophilizer operations using terminology and concepts explained in everyday language.

The course will begin with an overview of lyophilization. The effects of temperature, pressure, heat transfer, and vapor flow upon the freeze drying process will be explained and related to the operation of the freeze dryer. As the course progresses, each key lyophilizer sub-system will be reviewed in detail as it relates to the control of these critical parameters.

Although the design of the course is generic, a participant should expect to receive an overview of Hull freeze dryer operations. The following topics will be covered:

Freeze Dryer Overview
Refrigeration Circuit
Electrical System
Control System
System and Process Integration
Maintenance
Safety Highlights
Freeze Dryer Sub-systems
Circulation
Vacuum
Hydraulic
Temperature
Steam
Compressor Systems
